When a water supply line to a toilet broke, a Dawsonville homeowner woke up to find their home flooded. A toilet's water supply line connects the toilet tank to the home water supply. Since the water supply valve broke overnight, the flooding went unnoticed for several hours. The water caused damage across the first floor, second floor, and basement. This before-and-after specifically highlights the kitchen, showing both the flood-damaged materials and the completed repairs.
After quickly responding to the emergency water removal call, our team immediately began drying and extracting water. Drying fans and dehumidifiers are used during the drying process to lower moisture levels. Remediation also included removing water-stained drywall, trim, cabinetry, and flooring. The team also made flood cuts within the walls to remove the wet drywall and prevent mold growth.
After mitigation was completed, the reconstruction team began rebuilding the kitchen to its pre-loss condition. The repairs included installing new drywall, trim, kitchen cabinets, and flooring. After replacing and painting the kitchen cabinets, gorgeous European Oak engineered flooring was installed. Despite the unexpected water damage, our repairs left the home looking better than ever!
