A homeowner came home from work one day to find their kitchen and dining room completely flooded. After further investigation, they discovered the water had come from a busted water heater in the garage. Water heaters can rupture due to sediment buildup, corrosion, pressure changes, faulty controls, or worn-out anode rods.

Right after discovering the flood, the homeowner contacted their local insurance agency to report the incident and begin the claims process. Since the incident was sudden and accidental, the insurance claim was filed and approved without any issues. After the claim was approved, the homeowner chose Level Creek from the insurance company’s preferred network to complete the mitigation and reconstruction.

Since this was a water emergency, the mitigation crew quickly arrived to begin removing the water and drying the affected areas. Equipment like air scrubbers, moisture meters, air sampling kits, infrared cameras, Vacuums, dehumidifiers, fans, air movers, and more were used to thoroughly dry the area. Proper drying is essential to protect the structure of the home and prevent mold. During the drying process, damaged flooring, drywall, and unsalvageable contents were removed.

Once the home was fully dried and cleaned, our reconstruction team started the rebuilding process. The kitchen, garage, living room, half-bath, and entryway were damaged from the flooding. We installed new vinyl plank flooring, baseboards, drywall, and insulation to restore the home.
